In order to keep our staff healthy and available to meet our community’s emergent needs, our business office is closed to the public during the Covid crisis, but most business can easily be conducted over the phone.  Please call 541-536-2935, Option 2, for assistance.  Office Hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, closed on holidays.

Chief Mike Supkis

Chief Supkis is a 40-year veteran of public safety and pleased to serve the community of La Pine and Sunriver area since 2010 as Fire Chief.  He previously served as fire chief, public safety director, and police chief in progressive public safety organizations within Idaho, Alaska and Oregon. Chief Supkis has degrees in Forestry and Fire Science, and is also a graduate of the Alaska Public Safety Academy and the National Fire Academy, Executive Fire Officer Program.

Assistant Chief Dan Daugherty

Chief Daugherty has proudly served at La Pine Fire District since 1993, and served in the fire service since 1988.  He previously served in the roles of Deputy Chief, Battalion Chief, and Shift Commander, and currently is responsible for providing strategic leadership and ensuring the district is well positioned to provide the best service to the community.  Chief Daugherty has degrees in Emergency Medical and Fire Protection Services.  He has maintained a National Registry EMT License since 1978 and Oregon Paramedic License since 1993, and continues to participate in Fire Officer Programs at the National Fire Academy and other institutions of higher education.

Tracy Read – Office Manager

Tracy Read moved from the Midwest to Oregon in 2003.  She was employed with La Pine Rural Fire Protection District from 2004 – 2014, and returned to service as Office Manager this May.  Tracy’s previous experience is in ambulance and medical billing and office administration.  When not at work, Tracy enjoys the great central Oregon outdoors with her family and her dog.

Sue – Ambulance Billing

Sue Curl is a native Oregonian born in Eugene and she enjoyed growing up in Portland and Bend. She was employed in the emergency services field as an EMT/Firefighter and at the front desk for a local ER trauma center while living in Southern Oregon. She moved to Bend in March of 2014 to assume the role of Ambulance Billing Specialist. Sue is enjoying many of the outdoor activities that Central Oregon has to offer, while dedicating her work days to helping patients during difficult times.
